‎Applications open for Pitch Perfect Africa 2026 Innovation Fellowship for African Health Entrepreneurs

Posted by

Applications are now open for Pitch Perfect Africa 2026, a competitive pitch opportunity supporting early-stage African health entrepreneurs developing innovative solutions to health challenges across the continent.

Now in its second year, the program is organized by the Health Innovation Hub (H2i) under the Africa Health Collaborative, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. It selects six eligible H2i Level 2 ventures to pitch virtually to expert judges. Three of those finalists will each receive a CAD $5,000 Innovation Fellowship to further develop their work.

‎What the Opportunity Offers

‎Pitch Perfect Africa goes beyond prize money. It focuses on helping early-stage health ventures build investment readiness and strengthen their ability to communicate clearly with investors, partners, customers, and other stakeholders.

‎Participants gain:

‎- The chance to pitch to a panel of expert judges in a formal competition setting.

‎- Practical experience refining their venture story (problem, solution, market, team, milestones, and more).

‎- Access to supporting learning opportunities, including a “Building a Winning Pitch” masterclass.

‎- For the three winners: CAD $5,000 each in Innovation Fellowship funding (note that payments may take 3–4 months to process after the competition).

‎The program recognizes that strong ideas need strong communication. Early-stage founders often benefit as much from structured pitch practice and feedback as from capital.

Who Can Apply

Eligibility is specific and non-negotiable:

‎- Applicants must be a current H2i Level 2 HENT venture onboarded by their lead mentor by August 31, 2026. H2i Level 2 ventures are in the Discovery stage of H2i’s four-level model.

‎- Previous Pitch Perfect Africa winners are not eligible. Past finalists who did not win may reapply.

‎- The opportunity is tied to the existing H2i African venture community rather than open to all health entrepreneurs.

‎Ventures not yet part of the H2i community are encouraged to join as a client company to access mentorship, programs, and future opportunities.

‎- Application deadline: Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time

‎‎African health innovators are creating practical, context-driven solutions to pressing challenges in primary care, diagnostics, maternal health, chronic disease management, digital health, and more. Programs like Pitch Perfect Africa help translate those innovations into clearer, more investment-ready ventures.

‎If you are an eligible H2i Level 2 health entrepreneur, this is a focused chance to sharpen your pitch, gain visibility with expert judges, and compete for meaningful early-stage support. Prepare thoroughly, submit before the September 29 deadline, and consider attending the open masterclass on October 9 to strengthen your presentation skills.
