‎Across the world, women are at the forefront of creating innovative solutions to climate change, environmental protection, and sustainable development. Yet, many women-led organizations continue to face significant funding gaps that limit their ability to scale their impact. The WomenPower2030 Seed Grant 2026 seeks to address this challenge by providing financial support to women-led and women’s rights organizations working to advance gender equality and sustainable development in Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

What Is the WomenPower2030 Seed Grant?

The WomenPower2030 Seed Grant is part of the WomenPower2030: Feminist Accelerate Actions for Sustainable Development initiative. The program is designed to strengthen the leadership and influence of feminist organizations by supporting projects that promote gender-just climate action, inclusive governance, and sustainable development.

‎The initiative is implemented through a partnership supported by the European Union and a consortium of feminist organizations, with the Women Environmental Programme (WEP) leading implementation in Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

Who Can Apply?

‎The grant is open to eligible:

‎-Women-led organizations
‎-Women’s rights organizations
‎-Registered non-profit organizations operating in Nigeria or Sierra Leone
-‎Organizations with a demonstrated ability to implement community-based projects aligned with the program’s objectives

‎Applicants should have a proven track record of promoting women’s empowerment, climate justice, or sustainable development.

Funding and Project Duration

Successful applicants can receive seed funding of up to €5,000 to implement projects lasting between three and six months. The grants are intended to support innovative initiatives that strengthen women’s leadership, improve community resilience, and influence policies that promote gender equality and environmental sustainability.

‎Priority Areas

Projects supported under the WomenPower2030 Seed Grant are expected to contribute to areas such as:

‎-Gender equality and women’s rights

‎Application Requirements

Applicants are typically required to submit:

‎-A completed application form
‎-A detailed project budget
‎-Certificate of registration
‎-Letter of reference
‎-Documentation demonstrating previous project experience

‎Applications should be submitted in English before the stated deadline and must comply with the application guidelines provided by the organizers.

‎Please note: The organization may request more information from you should there be a need.

‎Applications that do not address the specified areas of the assignment will not be considered.

‎Application should not be more than 10 pages (excluding attachments).
