‎Bolt Partners with ChatGPT to Deliver Ride-Hailing Access to Nearly 900 Million Weekly Users

‎‎Bolt has rolled out a worldwide integration with ChatGPT, becoming the first ride-hailing service available through OpenAI’s AI assistant across the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan (with the feature live in all of Bolt’s markets simultaneously).

‎This partnership puts Bolt’s services in front of ChatGPT’s estimated 900 million weekly active users, letting them discover, plan, and start booking rides without leaving the chat.

‎‎With this new integration, Users can ask ChatGPT for a trip and receive an upfront fare estimate, compare route options, see a driver’s expected arrival time, and get a recommended pickup location designed to cut waiting times.

‎Once they decide to proceed, the trip details transfer seamlessly into the Bolt app to finish the booking. Payments currently stay inside the Bolt app, though the company plans to add the ability to pay directly within ChatGPT later in 2026.

‎The move reflects how AI is shifting from a pure information tool into a practical platform for everyday tasks such as travel.

‎Bolt points to Accenture’s Consumer Pulse Research 2025 (covering 18,000 consumers in 14 countries), which found that 80% of travellers worldwide already use AI tools for travel-related activities and more than half are open to letting AI handle their arrangements completely.

‎Paddy Partridge, Senior Vice President at Bolt, explained the thinking behind the launch: “People don’t plan their evening in five different apps anymore. A lot of that planning happens in one conversation with AI now

‎For years, booking a ride meant opening a dedicated ride-hailing app. As more everyday interactions take place through AI, we think requesting a ride should be just as straightforward: ask, see the price, and go.”

‎To use the feature, ChatGPT users connect the Bolt integration via the platform’s app catalogue or plugins directory. After linking it, they can simply type a request (for example, asking for a ride to a specific destination). ChatGPT returns available options, pricing, ETAs, and a suggested pickup point; selecting one hands the details over to the Bolt app for confirmation.

‎‎This integration marks another step in conversational AI’s evolution from answering questions to helping complete real-world actions. For Bolt, it expands reach by embedding ride-hailing inside one of the most widely used AI tools, reducing the friction of switching between apps when people plan their journeys.
