Rwanda continues to solidify its position as a technology hub in Africa with the launch of the Digital Talent Program (DTP) a bold, free national initiative designed to train 20,000 young people in high-demand digital skills over the next two years.
Spearheaded by IHS Towers Group in partnership with the Ministry of ICT and Innovation (MINICT) and the Rwanda ICT Chamber, the program addresses the critical skills gap in Rwanda’s rapidly growing digital economy. By equipping youth with practical, industry-relevant competencies, DTP supports Rwanda’s broader vision of becoming a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy.
The program combines self-paced online learning with limited in-person support at 15 learning centers across the country (starting with centers in districts like Nyarugenge/Club Rafiki, Rusizi, Huye, Kicukiro, and Nyagatare). It aims for meaningful outcomes, including a targeted 20% job placement rate for graduates within six months of completion.
