Young Kenyan entrepreneurs with early-stage business ideas now have a clear pathway to seed funding, mentorship, and a supportive network. Aiducation International’s 1,000 Young Entrepreneurs Start-Up Fund is currently accepting applications for Stage 1 in Kenya, with a deadline of 30 November 2026.
The programme targets founders under 30 who want to turn ideas into viable ventures. It offers up to US$1,000 in seed capital plus hands-on coaching, practical training, and access to peers and industry professionals.
What the Programme Is About
Aiducation International runs the 1,000 Young Entrepreneurs Start-Up Fund to equip the next generation of founders. The initiative operates in Kenya which is its flagship market and the Philippines. Its dual goals are:
- Empower young people to build entrepreneurial skills, innovation capacity, and leadership.
- Help them develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and test ideas in the real market.
Stage 1 focuses on idea-stage startups. Applicants do not need an established business or significant sales. Stage 2 targets ventures that already have an MVP and early pilot sales, with higher funding potential.
The programme has already supported dozens of startups. Official figures show 13 awards completed, 74 startups invested in, more than 244 jobs created, and over US$488,000 in revenue generated by supported ventures. Recent winners include circular-economy businesses turning plastic or organic waste into useful products, fashion brands upcycling materials, agri-tech solutions, renewable-energy tools, and digital platforms.

Why This Opportunity Matters for Kenyan Youth
Kenya has a vibrant and growing youth entrepreneurship ecosystem. Government programmes such as NYOTA and the Youth Enterprise Development Fund provide larger-scale support, while private and NGO initiatives like the 1,000 Young Entrepreneurs Fund fill an important gap at the very earliest stage—when a founder has an idea but limited capital or networks.
US$1,000 may seem modest, yet for many idea-stage founders it is enough to build a prototype, run first customer tests, or cover essential early costs. Combined with structured mentorship and a peer network, the programme helps de-risk the leap from concept to first product.
Past winners demonstrate the range of ideas that succeed: waste-to-value businesses, sustainable agriculture, digital tools for underserved communities, and creative enterprises that create local jobs. The common thread is a clear problem, a practical solution, and founders who are open to learning and iteration.
Final Advice for Applicants
- Start early so you have time to refine your 2-page plan and record a strong video.
- Be specific about the problem you solve, who your customers are, and what makes your approach different.
- Show genuine passion and willingness to adapt as these qualities feature strongly in the evaluation process.
- Double-check that every required document is included before hitting submit.
If you are a Kenyan under 30 with a business idea you believe in, this is a practical next step. Applications are open now so take the opportunity while it lasts.
