Kenya and Egypt are seeking to deepen bilateral cooperation in the digital sector following discussions between Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, William Kabogo Gitau, and Egypt’s Ambassador to Kenya, Hatem Yousri Hosni.
During a courtesy meeting, the two officials explored opportunities to strengthen collaboration across several strategic areas, including artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, e-government services, ICT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital skills development.
The discussions also focused on knowledge sharing and capacity-building initiatives aimed at accelerating innovation, expanding digital inclusion, and enhancing the two countries’ digital capabilities. Both sides emphasized the importance of exchanging expertise to support the development of resilient digital ecosystems.
Kabogo reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to working closely with Egypt to advance shared digital priorities and strengthen bilateral relations through technology-driven partnerships. He said enhanced cooperation would help drive economic growth, foster innovation, and improve the delivery of digital services for citizens in both countries.
The meeting reflects growing efforts by Kenya to expand international partnerships that support its digital transformation agenda while leveraging regional and global collaboration to accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies.
