What is develoPPP Ventures?
develoPPP Ventures is a funding initiative by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented through partners like DEG Impulse gGmbH and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. It provides catalytic, non-dilutive growth capital of up to €100,000 (via a matching-funds model) to young, profit-oriented startups scaling innovative solutions in developing and emerging markets.

The program targets startups that contribute meaningfully to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through economic, social, or environmental impact such as in AgriTech, renewable energy, digital innovation, health, circular economy, and more. Selected founders also receive tailored technical assistance and growth advisory from sector experts.

Who Is Eligible?
Your startup should meet these core criteria:
- Privately owned and profit-oriented.
- Registered (or planning to register) in a target country.
- Proof of concept with initial revenues already generated (not pre-revenue or pure idea stage).
- Innovative business model with high scalability and development relevance (clear SDG contribution).
- Viable business and financial plan; at least one annual financial statement.
- Ability to secure matching funds (equity or equivalent).
- Total prior funding not exceeding €2 million.
- High growth potential, aiming for break-even within 3 years.

(for the May 15 – June 30, 2026 call): Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, and Tanzania (with others like Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria also supported in the broader program).
